Matt Radbourne #
I am a software developer with a strong focus on user experience #
My work spans full-stack software development and user-centred design. Specialising in both of these fields allows me to involve real users throughout the design process and build great digital products.
I work in the financial technology sector, creating software for asset and investment management. I have built tools to enable responsible and ethical investing and I hope this work does a bit of good for the world.
I am based in London, UK.
Some things you may not know about me:
- I love a good hackathon or game jam.
- I produce audio for indie games in my spare time.
- I have helped teach User Experience Design at General Assembly.
My education is in interactive media and its effect on people #
I have a first-class honours degree in Interactive Media Design from the School of Media and Social Sciences at the University of East London. During my studies, I focused on the emotional side of digital design.
If you are interested in this field, my tutor was Dr Tony D Sampson, who has written several books around digital viral contagion and social network theory. Take a look at his blog, "Virality".
It is important to adopt a human-centered approach to software design. Design decisions can have a huge impact on the world.
